Pssst Polly... It's "See me, feel me". ;)
The Who's The Rock (also on Quadrophenia) is a piece of music that I find to be absolutely mesmerising. Quadrophenia has four main themes, each based on a Who member. During The Rock all four pieces come together. Just brilliant.
Mark Knopfler's Dire Straits is one of my favourite bands. Their song On Every Street (on the album by the same name) is enchanting. It first starts out as a ballad about someone who's looking for a lost friend, and it ends more cheerfully (though still keeping the same melody), as if the lost friend is found. This song knocks your socks off, especially live.
I find it to be a real shame the great Dave Matthews Band isn't as popular over here in Europe as it is in Amerika. They are one of the most incredible bands around and are known for their profound live act. Impeccable musicality for sure. Their cover of All Along The Watchtower gets to me every single time I listen to it. And this is just one song in their amazing repetoire.
