Not a really a big fan of Portnoy's ( please dont hate me, I know every other guy here is.. ) but a huge Barriemore fan.
He was one of the most evolved drummers at a time when rock drumming was not. The story is that he was the only drummer Bonham felt intimidated by at the time both were gigging the same neighborhoods. He wouldn't share the same bill with him, but was openly an big admirer of his playing.
What happens to DT now. Time will tell. Change is inevitable. Change is good. Isn't that how the phrase goes? ( ducks GWBush-like and artfully avoids flying shoe )
