You beat me to it. Satch's self-titled album is , IMO, his best, and I am a huge Satriani fan. I believe it is the best because (a) he sticks to the basics, rather than shred with multiple pedals and effects, and (b) Manu Katche's drumming is flat FILTHY!
The drums MAKE the album great!
