Here's another guy I think would be greatly appreciated by a lot of the drummers into the newer breed of double bass metal drummers. Travis has been around for a while playing with Judas Priest and also Racer X. His work with Priest is great but I really love the drumming he's done with Racer X. One of his signature drum intros was from the tune "Scarified" that came out way back in the late 80s. I've turned certain students on to his playing and they usually really dig it. He has some unique patterns that I've been working on for a while. Another great thing is his feel and sound. It's huge. I just don't see some of the modern metal guys playing like this. Many of them (definitely not all) are too much with double bass workouts and not enough with taste, groove, and innovation.
