I raised this question in a thread a while back, and I think the consensus was that YouTube drummers are valid... on YouTube
. It's different than real-life, with its own audience, rewards, limitations, and potential for criticism.
As I said in an earlier post, I wouldn't trade YouTube fame for what I've accomplished in the real world with live musicians, playing in front of live audiences.
