If you contact Remo about that, they'll most likely send you out a new head to replace the one where the coating wore off so quickly.
Generally, your snare will wear out much faster just because you play (hit) it more frequently than your other drums.
Yea, I'll see if I want to pursue that route. I've used Remo for years, so I know about their sub-par coating but this time around it was REALLY fast to wear. I've had a Vintage Ambassador on my other snare for I want to say 6 months, and while it's got stick marks and the coating's smooth it has not worn through.
I'd say I just got a bad head.
