Actually, the sweeping makes the rock go straighter (less curl) ... and further as previously detailed.
Correct about the strategy. There is the setup and then, like pool / snooker, there is the matter of where you leave things.
... and Andy, they DO have mixed competitions ... it just hasn't made it into the Olympics yet. Don't bother signing up tho, the gals that play in the mixed tourneys are always "taken" ... lol.
