I'm immensely proud of him. He's a year and a half older than me and has always been incredibly bright. He is, however, autistic and if it wasn't for sacrifices that my parents made when he was younger, he wouldn't have been able to live a 'normal' life. He's secured his first Graduate job at a decent firm doing work he's good at (they came to him), is moving in with his girlfriend and pursuing his interests. He's also a phenomenal Pianist. But he prefers playing Bridge. If you'd have asked my parents twenty years ago whether he'd be able to live the life he now does, then it probably wouldn't have been such a positive answer.
Meanwhile I'm still hopeless at the whole 'life' thing!
I know I'm gushing guys but I'm really proud of him.
That is great to hear!
My wife's part-part time job is working with an autistic child.
Due to early intervention and therapy, doctors think the child may eventually be functioning to the point where it won't be noticeable.
