The little ones sit on the rubber grips of the basket, and are held in place (well) by two way velcro strips that wrap the grip in two spots (on each arm).

It's a special density foam. They don't look like much, and usually I'm pretty skeptical about these kind of gizmos, but these things make the drum sound really great.

They have larger one's that slip over the floor tom leg feet, and make a dramatic difference (than nothing) too, but the Pearl Air feet I have do the trick enough for me--I don't need the floor toms to sustain for a day and a half. Just a day :-)
