Default Re: Colored Cymbal Felts?

This might be a little dated of a thread, but I want to add my thoughts on Cympads. For me, I pick my cymbals based on their sound and tone - especially overtones and wash. If I wanted to change that, I would have a different cymbal.

For me, the Cympads remove some of the lower frequencies and wash. This is probably a good thing for some metal mixtures and some basic low-cost packages, but I really love the cymbal sound that I get from a basic felt.

Yes, it's all subjective, but I try not to alter the color of the sound that I wanted in the first place. I think it is a cool product that might open up some of the clang from some brands I've heard and make them better.
