I just use the Vic Firth bass drum mute. It's thicker than the others. Put a kick pad on it or else you tear through it in no time. I'd say it reduces by 60%. Also reduces the bounce though.

My problem is the mutes for the other drums. I go through the 10", 12" and snare mutes rather quickly.
