When you are on your deathbed, not many people say...Gee, I wish I would have worked more. I think if you need more money, maybe try to think of a different way of getting it? What you are giving up can't be priced. A factory job will probably always be there. It sounds very depressing. Either that or tell them if they want you it has to be on the shift you choose. Can't hurt to try for that.
Larry are you becoming a philosopher? That was deep... Another thing to do would just be to casually look at other job opportunities. You may just find a good paying job with hours that you can work. Don't do anything that could mess up your family though... Think anything big over and talk to them (or just her) about it.
