Thanks for the advice Bonzo_CR! I think I will send Gretsch an email today, I've always been pleased with their customer service, but we'll see what happens. Worst case scenario I'll get some loctite.

She's brand new. I am sure that the loosening of the wires isn't from the straps coming loose. The NC snares allow you to adjust the snare wire tension from both sides. Its definetly the tension rod...

Okay so I recently bought a New Classic snare and whenever I play with the snares off the ajustable butt plate slowly loosens and the snare wires won't even touch the head when I turn them back on....

Cresent has got to be my favorite Coltrane album. A big influence for me also. Man, his solo on Wise One is breathtaking...

The other albums I have not heard. Tyner shouldn't dissapoint, and wow...

Early 70's Can always had really juicy grooves. The song Halleluwah has a sweet really simple groove that carries the song...
