Last night I was playing a gig(swing band) I thought I was kicking the groove pretty good felt good about the whole night, after the set was finished
everbody said I sounded great, this got me...

I believe that Philly Joe was the greatest Bop drummer of all time. I also believe Tony Williams was the greatest Modern Jazz drummer of all time.

Jazz is alive, check out Downbeat mag,Smalls Jazz, you just don't make alot of money,but I don't play for money it would be nice though.

When I took lessons back in the "50's" my teacher taught out of three books, Chapin,Stick Control and Haskall Hare(spl) most of learning was just playing along to my LP's(rember those)

you might check out, Dupuytren's Contracture, on google, I'm not saying you have this but it's something you might keep your eye on. I have it and it doesn't bother my playing.
