Re: should i swap my acrylic kit for a DDrum dominion maple?

Only you can decide but if it were me I would not. You put the time into assembling that kit to your specs, and even though acrylic gets a bad rep I personally have loved the sound of all the...

Re: Jenkins-Martin (Blaemire) announces "Starry Night" Limited Edition.

Beautiful, I normally wouldn't like a kit with an over the top finish but this one is different. Very, very nice.

You beat me to it, my band is going to the studio on Saturday where I will be laying down the last few tracks for our album with my signets.

Re: Mapex USA Maples

I have only read about these drums. I believe there were only 300 or so sets made before they were discontinued. They were made by Gibson? so Pretty rare drums overall. My guess is that they...

Re: Got called for a Session, YAY! Gear Upgrade?

Not calling you a liar at all but I have never had this problem with rides. I can always seem to get comfortable with rides really fast, same goes with toms, and bass drums. However snares, hats,...

Re: Got called for a Session, YAY! Gear Upgrade?

You can never have too many cymbals.... Scratch that; you can never have too many snares.... Ahhh what am I saying? Get them both. If you only have the money for one flip a coin, and then be angry...

Re: Rock Gigs Not Very Rock Anymore?

I see this all the time when I am playing out. It is so hard to get an audience reaction. However one thing I have noticed is that it seems like they are not paying attention during the show but...

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

The Signet also has 8 lugs on the bass but for some reason I am a fan of fewer lugs. even on snares. I Have a ten lug snare that I love and I have an 8 lug snare that I love. But I find few lugs to...

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

I personally like the signets better than the stage custom but it really depends on what you are looking for. If you want a maple sound then these will be better but if you like the birch sound then...

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

Didn't the Sonor S Classix have a plastic part on their lug at one point in time. Also I would say that these bass drum spurs are super sturdy. Sturdier than alot of others I have tried and also...

Re: My (Preliminary) Ddrum Reflex Uptown Review

Fair enough, and no you did not paint them in a bad light nor would I judge you for playing an electronic kit. I was just curious about what you liked about going electric and you did a good job of...

Re: My (Preliminary) Ddrum Reflex Uptown Review

Oh man Tommy those drums do look nice. I was sad when reading the review and just when I got to the point where it would tell me how the drums sounded there was nothing. Oh well its still pretty...

Re: Legend Bronze Snare... what's the scoop?

I played one a while back and the guy who owned it asked me if I wanted to buy it for $125 I was broke and in college so I had to say no. It was a 6.5x14 and to this day I still wish I would have...

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

I couldn't get the factory heads to sing at all. Then I realized that my reso heads (Ludwig mediums) were a little warped. I ended up with a coated Ambassador on the 12 and a Vintage A on the Floor...

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

I would say the cardboard insert with the lugs and mounts are put together in Asia however they do come with Ludwig USA heads so I would assume they do the shrink wraping in the US. I had actually...

Re: You get what you pay for

I have found that a quality snare will run you $250+ once you get there you will not notice many bad snares. after $250 you start paying more for fit finish and cost of materials. They do not seem...

Re: Drum Workshop Worth The Cash?

I would never say a DW is not worth the money. Because I do feel that the price is reasonable for the quality that you get. I would also agree that they have very high quality standards especially...

Re: Ludwig's new Signet 105 drum line!

Ok guys I ordered the "Giga Beat" kit in natural teak and I received it today. I think Bermuda has done a great job at clearing things up for people but I want to take some of the heat off of him...

Re: Better than the original??.....Noooooo!!!!!!

I would agree The Beatles Version of Twist and Shout is better than the original.
I like Otis singing Respect more than Aretha. I prefer the Sam Cooke Version of A Change Is Gonna Come, and Bobby...
