Re: Music tracks minus drums...

Just as an FYI... Word on the street is you can use Rock Band to output drumless tracks! Haven't tried it yet though.

Re: SJC

One thing is for sure, don't email them, or call them to correct you if you're wrong because they evidently won't apply. I tried contacting them, they didn't answer, and I tried plenty. Seems to be...

Re: One Up Two Down

First off I would say, no reason you can't do 2 up 2 down, that's what I have:) Second note is that second floor tom isn't getting as much use as I would like:) Bit of a stretch.

Re: Flip the Kit?

My oppinion would be leave the kit like it is but still work on using your left as lead. You can work on your left hand for example without changing your kit to a configuration you will not...

Re: Need help with bass triplets!

Can you do a triple stroke roll with your feet? Inverted? I've been starting to add some time to work on this a little. I focus mostly on my singles and doubles with my feet right now. It's slow...

Re: My "Mangini" workout... need opinions

Hmm, I must say that is not very Zen like though. Way too much concentrating of what is actually taken place. Seems like I do way too much thinking as it is:)

Re: What is your Double Bass Drums speed ??

That's fine you feel that way but actually making note of the speed you are currently at, helps you know where you are in relation to your goals. Speed is a necessary evil unless you just like to...

Re: What is your Double Bass Drums speed ??

I'm sorry but that is misguided... Are you working on your hands that way? i understand it's slightly different but still. you should re-think that theory in my oppinion.

Re: The " oops" hit

Yeah my electronic kit really brought this issue to the fore front. It's interesting to note the issue only occurs with my right foot. Not sure if my technique is better with the left or if the...

Re: i have a problem with noise

An electronic kit is definately an option if you have the cash... Understand the using the bass might still be an issue if you are in an apartment and are not on the bottom floor. you foot stomping...

Seems to me if this is on metal, you might add something like "Blast Beats"

Here is one that has some songs:

Re: How to play Iron Maiden?!

Really you mean he actually admitted to THAT! You talk about him using a double bass like it's a crime.... Geesh

Re: It's sad, but I had to ask.

hmm, have to disagree. From what I know the original blast beat would have been 16th notes with you hands and one of your feet doing half time lining up with either you right or left hand. Of...

Re: Ergonomic pedal - floating foot board - offset?

No, I would simply move my position my bass drum like I wanted it, which ofcourse is not adapting to the kit as you keep saying but rather adapting the kit to you.

Re: Annual Income

Of course he isn't the main draw but 60K working for Usher? I'm no fan of Usher but I'm quite sure 60K would be no where near an appropriate percentage to play that gig. I guess if the drummer is...

Re: Crazy ostinato solo by a 14 year old!

Can you post the title of this video (as it shows on youtube) so I can search for it? My work blocks youtube but I can get around that, but I can't use this link to to it.

thanks.

Re: Annual Income

All I know is if the drummer for say Usher is making 60K per year then that proves most drummers are nice... Nice and stupid!

Re: Double Pedal Kills Single Pedal !

What kind of drills do you do with your feet? Seems like there is never enough time but I've been making sure I spend SOME time working on doubles, just like my hands with my feet. Hopefully when I...

Re: Help With Single Kick Pedal Technique

In my humble, non expert oppinion, I would suggest working on both your feet. I luv working with my double pedal. Don't fall into the idea that it's just for speed metal. The patterns you can work...

Re: i really wonder

One thing is for sure.. Bonham would have bust out that double bass kit those wankers told him not to use! Now I would have liked that:)

Re: When does a drummer find Zen?

Yes one must practice constantly but not with perfection in mind. I believe, from my limited reading (Zen and the art of archery), that the goal is to use practice with the sole intention of...

Re: When does a drummer find Zen?

I see no reason why drumming couldn't be a vehicle to gain Zen mastery. Read Zen in the Art of Archery. Good little book, won't be a mater by reading but I believe I understand the principles.
