Re: How does everyone ship their drum kit?

I will just add a couple of tricks I have learned.
Instead of bubble wrap I use foam mattress toppers. They cost a little more but the foam is better. It can be squished when going in then expands...

Re: Can you convert a snare into a timbale? If so, how?

So true!

Re: Do you talk drums and drumming with your significant other?

I pretend to listen. I've gotten really good at it. You just have to know when to nod. :)

Re: Switching to TG while maintaining MG skills?

I play matched grip.
In traditional grip, isn't only one stick held differently?

Re: Do you talk drums and drumming with your significant other?

Re: Ever find something non drum related in used cymbal bag or drum case?

I once bought some soft drum bags off craigslist and discovered a pair of ladies underwear in an outer pocket. They were stained and quite large! At first I thought I could handle it but...

I had paid $200 for the kit, $50 for the cymbals, and $20 for the snare so I had a total of $270 invested.
I could...

Re: Forum psychology

Once there was a boy who wouldn't speak. His parents were very concerned and took him to see many doctors. They could find nothing physically wrong with him. His childhood had been a very happy one...

Re: Most heinously overrated drummer / band. Come on Man

I agree. I think this thread encourages negative energy that is not needed here. What if there was a thread entitled, "Most heinous troll on the Drummerworld forum?" Come on man!

.................and a partridge in a pear tree! :)

I've sold 12 kits since November 1st. Plus dozens of separate cymbals, stands, snares, and pedals. Admittedly, it was mostly low end stuff...

Re: I can only play original music?

It's hard to stay in time with pre-recorded stuff if you can't hear it. Get some good headphones so you can hear the music over the drums. These will do the job and not break the bank....

You called it, Steve. Give yourself a big pat on the back! I thought it could be a supra from those pics but I never would've been able to tell it was a COB. Knowledge is power. :)

Re: Thinking about downsizing

I drive an Oldsmobile Silhouette. All the rear seats are removable. When I built my drum room, I hauled all the plywood and 2x4s in it. As for being able to haul a motorcycle, I've never tried but I...
