Re: Snare Drum Tuning: The Neil Peart Sound

At what point is the reso considered about to pop? I'm running an Evans Hazy 300.

Hi-Hats: Tight or loose????

Just like the title says, do you prefer your hi-hats tight or loose? By this I don't mean pedal tension, I'm speaking of the tightness of the clutch on the top hi-hat cymbal.

Re: PDP Concept Maple - Drum Heads

Re: Mike Marsh ddrum signature steel snare

I think it started at around $220, was down to $180 and now it's down to $140. With the lack of replies on this thread, I'm sort of getting that "maybe this isn't the one for me" feeling.

Re: Mike Marsh ddrum signature steel snare

I guess what I really would like to know is if this drum is something that would be worth adding to one's snare drum arsenal? Or do I pass on it and wait for a more recognizable snare??

Can anyone tell from the lugs what brand this snare is? It's apparently a 10 lug.

Re: Yamaha drum kit, need advice.

If you're planning on doing that, go to a local Guitar Center (their spread across the country side like Toyota Dealerships) and play a set of the PDP's to see if you like them.

I personally did...

I think the hate for Lars is two-fold and neither has anything to do with his drumming ability.
