Re: Dave King

Personally I love how he uses the rim clicks to bring another dynamic into his playing, especially on this song.

Re: singing drummer, mic woes...

Then you should definitely go for the Beta 58. It will cost you about $150-160 USD and it's definitely a great live vocal mic and in my experience it picks up better than the SM58 when you are close...

Re: singing drummer, mic woes...

Well, the mic that you have in the link is a drum mic and not even a high quality one. That's not intended for vocal use and it doesn't have an internal pop filter.

Re: Dave King

This deserves a bump. I found a little clip of Dave playing the Flim cover. It's probably the best performance of the song I've seen from him so far. Amazing to say the least. He even uses one of...

Re: Chris Pennie

Sadly, Chris Pennie has officially left Dillinger, or at least they make it seem that way. Gil Sharone (http://www.drummerworld.com/drummers/Gil_Sharone.html) is taking over for at least the...

Re: Post your Greatest Weakness

I'm gonna say my left hand, but it is getting a lot better. Also, my doubles need a lot of work.

Re: Chris Pennie

Supposedly Pennie is now drumming for Coheed and Cambria as well. Not a big fan of Coheed but I think I might start listening just to hear what he brings to the band.

Re: Best metal drummers?

Chris Pennie of The Dillinger Escape Plan because he incoporates so many different styles of music into his playing and does them all extremely well. Plus, he somehow fits those styles, such as jazz...

Re: Chris Pennie

He was the co-founder of DEP as you said. But, i don't think it matters if he can do blast beats at all. His drumming sets him apart from other metal/hardcore/thrash/whatever drummers because he...

Re: Zach Hill

The guy is definitely amazing. He should be a well-known drummer by now, but Hella has such a small listening group. He's starting to get more recognition with Team Sleep though.

Re: The "Drummer" thread (drummers who have influenced you)

You get to take some lessons from Chris Pennie. How? He is my favorite drummer and probably my biggest influence. I'm flat-out jealous right now.
