Re: What's On Your Shopping List?

I would really like some new DW 5002TD pedals. Keeping eye out for another core-Bonham kit for the house. Till then, I am saving my pennies.

Re: Gretsch Catalina Maple vs Ludwig Classic Maple

I can't speak for the Gretch, but I have a fairly new set of Ludwig Classic Maples and love them. No words will substitute for hearing them in the flesh, but the first time I put sticks to my new...

Re: Great car for a drummer

Glad you are OK man.

I also have a 1994 Toyota extended cab 4x4. I love that thing. Even as a young kid, I always loved the way Toyotas looked and performed. I need to get a new canopy on it...

Re: How long do I have to wait?

Awesome! Congratulations! I did the same thing a few months back. I am so happy I got these big beautiful Ludwigs.

I waited just about six weeks exactly.

I can't figure out for the life of...

Re: When soundmen attack

Yeah Bull,

Our band plays similar situations and we have pretty much the same kit set up and tuning from what you describe. I play with an unported 26" bass drum. Half the time when we play...

Re: Jeez, Phil...

Are you kidding? Sixty is a great time to start your meth habit and get on a self destruct roller coaster. You should have had time to build life's sand castles. Now, time to tear it down and fly...

Re: How sentimental are you about your drums?

Great posts guys.

OK, so here are the drums that I am most sentimental about. They are my ~1990 Tama Granstars. About 24 years old and they still sound great. I don't play a nine piece...

Re: Anyone suggest good drum bags?

I would speculate that the AAA bags are not available here in the states due to a cost vs. profit issue to get the large rigid bags over the big pond. A regular Protection Racket case folds and...

Protection Racket. I have 17 bags, gig, and love how they are made.

Re: First time in EIGHT years.. I have drums set up at my place.

Thanks for your input. I think that I will be picking up the 5002 TD4 in the near future. I am sure that I could work with the AD4, but for the time I played with both, the Turbo seemed very nice...

Re: New Guru "Tour" series kits - details here first :)

Great looking drums as usual. I would love to see and hear some clips of some 26" Guru bass drums. Keep us posted!

Re: First time in EIGHT years.. I have drums set up at my place.

Thanks guys.

My last living situation where I could set them up where I lived was when I lived with two other drummers. The company that managed the little house that was surrounded by large...

Re: First time in EIGHT years.. I have drums set up at my place.

I think I am leaning towards The TD4 over the AD4. I used to have the older single chain with base plate version of the Accelerators. I have DW 9002s on my Ludwig kit, but the more I play with the...

Re: First time in EIGHT years.. I have drums set up at my place.

Thanks guys!

I am lucky enough to have a few drum sets. This lets me keep my main kit, my Ludwig Classic Maple, over at my guitarist's house. The Granstars will always have a place in my heart. ...

First time in EIGHT years.. I have drums set up at my place.

So I took the plunge a couple of weeks ago and purchased my first home. One of the main factors that finally made me want to do it besides the economics of the thing, was to have a place where I...

Re: children of the grave question

HA! That lends more credit to my opinion of the recording. I was trying to tell my guitarist that there are too many things being hit at the exact same time to be done by four limbs alone. It...

How sentimental are you about your drums?

OK, on one level, drums are simply tools of the trade. And on another level, a drum kit can take on more meaning, be it the associated sense of accomplishment after saving up for it, or a custom...

Re: children of the grave question

Is this the part it sounds like a second drummer is hammering away at a timbale or something over what Ward is playing? My guitarist and I can't seem to agree on what sounds to me, to be two tracks.

Re: How LOUD were the classic rock bands??

This happens when you get beyond, (as in behind) the front of house PA) You are hearing stage volume for the most part. Maybe some monitor, but doubtful. If you walk back a bit from the stage, ...

Re: 99 ludwig 9 plys

Hell yes! Great looking kit man.

Question. Do you ever play out with this kit? If so, what do you put the bass drum in with that Atlas Arch? Do you have to go all the way up to a 28" bass...

Re: comparing two new sets, Ludwig or DW?

Hey kill, I was in a similar situation a while back. I suppose my situation was a bit easier because I knew I wanted some Ludwig Classic Maples. I even had selected the same Black Glass Glitter...

Re: I'm in a Band - And I Have a Problem

hahahahaha.

The girlfriend analogy is pretty close sometimes. Except with a band, it's like being in a relationship with three or four people at the same time on several different levels. Some...

Re: I'm in a Band - And I Have a Problem

Be honest and up front, with yourself and others, and everything will work out for the best.

Ask yourself, if you had to pick one or the other, who would you enjoy playing with more.

If your...
