Re: Comparing ones abilities with others

Things that I like or do:

- Look at the big picture, does the band work? Did I enjoy listening to them?

- Talk to the drummer, unless he is busy, and give him credit for something I liked.

There is a 23 page long thread over at drumforum.org about Ming snares.
If I had to decribe it in a single word it would be...

This happens all the time. Some manufacturers places restrictions on export.
This is to protect their overseas importers and dealers as well...

I Fully agree. The important thing for you is to be able to play as much as you want without anyone complaining or you being worried about discomforting people.
Maybe you can still get to play an...

Re: Left handed question

I am left handed too. If I was starting out today, I would play open handed on a normal righty kit. It's just a pain in the ass going to jams, sitting int, etc. playing a left hand kit.

Re: When to do Free Gigs and Paid Gigs

The issue here is that sometimes the pro and the hobby guy overlaps.
Drumming is my hobby, it could be soccer, collecting stamps, interior decorating or sewing my own clothes, but it is drumming. I...

Re: Tricks for faster set up

Teach the entire band that no equipment is put on stage unless it's to the final position. Otherwise time is wasted moving things. Same at tear down, things must go straight in the bag/case.

Re: How Does Your Band Set Up on Stage?

We are just a 3 piece. The bar we play every Friday has a POS house kit and I am a leftie. So I bring my own and we do it this way.
I can see all the chicks and all the chicks can see me.
