Re: Thoughts on super fast foot speed

Re: Thoughts on super fast foot speed

Do you think its possible to get power and consistency using heel toe technique as doubles or heel heel toe toe singles at any speed? I very rarely see it done with speed and power and consistency....

Thoughts on super fast foot speed

I was watching a video of a well known drummer in the death metal scene last night. He was doing double bass runs of 16ths at like 240. He was also triggering his kicks. It got me thinking about the...

Re: Achieving Greatness

I think what it takes to achieve greatness is passion, perseverance, hard work, dedication and never quitting no matter how hard it gets.

My personal definition of greatness is achieving a very...

Achieving Greatness

What do you think it takes to achieve greatness as a drummer/musician? I have my own thoughts on this, which I will share, but first I would like to hear yours.

Re: Comparing ones abilities with others

When I was younger I used to judge drummers all the time. I mean in the negative sense. But as I've gotten older I really do believe that to do that all the time is to show one's own insecurities. I...

Re: Comparing ones abilities with others

I think that amongst ourselves as drummers there is not so much of a comparison of our abilities in a negative way. Where I tend to see it most, at least when it comes to drummers, is from other...

Comparing ones abilities with others

Being a musician can be a competitive thing. What I mean is that people are always comparing musicians to each other. I know that as a drummer it can be hard for me to not look at guys that are...

Re: Difficult band members

I see a band situation differently though. In a work situation its not nearly as an intimate setting as a band. Expecially when touring because one is living with the band members. Im not saying you...

How to you construct your parts?

For quite a few years now I've written all of my drum parts out for every original song that I play. Every beat, every fill, everything written out down to the note. And although I do think this is a...
