Re: New to me Acrolite

Congrats Ron and enjoy. I have one of the reissue 6.5" x 14" Acrolites and it's definitely in the top 2-3 snares I've owned. I use it all the time for everything.

Great all 'rounder!

Re: Questions about kick drum heads

If you're doing this as a business, I suggest you buy the heads and experiment to find the best size of your vinyl sticker. I mean, don't you want to do some research and ensure you're using correct...

Re: Hi hats and air lock, no luck.

Re: Hi hats and air lock, no luck.

I thought I read before that there were 602 Sound Edge hats before the 2002s were introduced? Maybe not.

Re: Hi hats and air lock, no luck.

So when you do a foot chick on the hats, it's in audible? I've had that happen alot, but tilting the bottom cup has always worked. Weird!

Re: Hi hats and air lock, no luck.

Re: Yamaha Drums

Doesn't seem like there's alot of excitement about the Live Customs either and those have been out for a year or more.

I have a Live Custom kit and I dig it.

Hey man! I don't even have to look at the ad to know what it is. HA HA... That has been on CraigsList for a while. Some people were posting that they went to his house and the guy in charge of...

Re: Weird symptoms before a show

My mother refers to this as the "nervous sh*ts."

I no longer have this reaction and haven't for many years, but I still don't eat dinner before a gig for this very reason.

Re: Help - Meeting up with Guitarist

I totally agree! I'd play right away to see what happens and save the coffee trip if you bond through playing.

Re: The 20" shallower bass drum, not as easy to find as I thought

Ah, gotcha. I was in the market for a set with a 14x22 bass drum a year ago and I feel your pain. It pretty much got down to a Ludwig Classic Maple or the Yamaha Live Custom I ended up getting. ...

Re: Am I the only one here that hated the Kick Port?

I've tried kick ports on several kits and they DO NOT always improve the sound. However, I had a Pearl Reference 18"20" and it slammed with the kickport. Made a world of difference on that...

Re: What do we think of drummers that deliberately play out of time?

LOL, right. The jazz guitarists (and I assume every other jazz musician) may say there is no wrong note. They all fall into a scale from any part of the world.

I'm not sure what to think about...

Re: Using a Metronome/Click on stage
