Re: Anyone ever switch your "brand loyalty?" (Mid-life crisis for me?)

After starting out playing Zildjian, and sticking with them for quite a few years, I switched a few years ago to Paiste.

I had always had issues finding "that cymbal" or "my sound" within...

Notice he plays brushes with his left hand on top of the brush. Again, just...

Re: Rest in Peace Roy Burns

I had the pleasure of speaking to Mr. Burns a couple times. It didn't matter who you were, he would take the time to get you exactly what you wanted.

He was a class act..old Modern Drummer...

You know what's funny about resurrecting a 7 year old thread? I don't remember writing all of those comments...at all...yet there it is.

Re: How many have matching snare finish & brand with rest of kit?

For quite a while, I rarely had a matching snare; I used my 5" Supra for most gigs. Eventually, I just wanted something different as the Supra just didn't quite sound like I what I wanted.

Re: If you want to humble yourself to improve

Always, always, always record yourself. Grooves, practice pad stuff, etc.

Of course, early Led Zep featured Bonham playing GBs,...

Re: Small Snare Drum for Brushes

Btw, any reason it has to be a small snare? Why not a...

Re: Bandmate comparing me to other drummer

Who decides who is cooler, more handsome, or has a better body?

Unless this person; 1) Cooks your meals, 2) Pays your bills, or 3) Signs your paycheck, why do you care what they think?

Sorry to...
