Re: Does anyone else have this double bass issue?

I sometimes have the same issue with the middle speeds, only difference is I can do them no problem heel down just not heel up. A friend of mine who used to play drums came over my house and was...

Re: "Medium speed" double bass

I have this exact same problem. I've been trying to learn "Revenge I Seek" by Bleeding Through for weeks, and the double bass at 0:47-0:52 kicks my ass every time. Its right at that in between speed...

Re: What is your Double Bass Drums speed ??

I can do around 200 bpm cleanly for a full bar of 16ths, maybe a little more on a good day. I have horrible control when doing less notes. I can play 3 or 4 sixteenth notes at that speed, or 16+, but...

Re: Redneck Lamb of God Double bass Sixtuplets beginning

Its hard to tell but it sounds like 6 to me. Listen to the second time he does it, that definitely sounds like more than 4 notes.

I have the same problem as you. I can play fast double bass in...

Re: One handed 16ths on the hat/ride

I can't think of many songs with one-handed 16th notes on the hi-hat, but I can think of many with 8th notes at very fast tempos. Blink 182 comes to mind (intro to Mutt, second part of the verses in...

Re: double bass control

I've been playing on and off since I was a little kid, but consistently for the past 5 or 6 years. I'm just recently getting back into metal/double bass. I used to play this stuff a long time ago,...

Re: double bass control

What I forgot to mention is that I can play the parts in question heel down, just not heel up. So I guess its not my ankle technique that is suffering. I usually try to play most of a song heel up...

double bass control

I've been working on my dobule bass technique for quite a while now and can't seem to get any better. I can play fine at tempo's where you still move your entire leg (maybe around 120 bpm? not sure)...

slow tempos

the other day my dad asked me to play along to some blues song in 3/4 that was insanely slow...like probably around 60 bpm or slower. i thought it was going to be easy, but it was almost impossible...

Re: Atom Willard

Re: Travis Barker

Re: Double Bass help/dream theater

you should have no trouble playing fast with those expensive pedals theyre so smooth. but if you want a tip, try playing heel down instead of heel up it makes it easier to play fast, but you dont get...

Re: Rockband Drums: good practice?

if you play on the expert level, its pretty much note for note the real song, so in that sense yes it is good practice

can anyone tell me what chad sexton of 311 is playing for the intro of "come original"? at one point in the groove it sounds like he does some kind of double stroke roll but yet still keeps time on...
