Re: The body-snatchers

Yeah, probably more often than not.

I've been listening to this lately:

http://www.amazon.com/Schack-Tati-Mats-Morgan/dp/B00J07LH06

Morgan does some really unique stuff, and I'm consciously...

Anyone prefer standard depth?

I put my 14x6.5 black beauty in its case for a few months since I got an ahead 14x6 brass snare. I just got the black beauty out again for a change, and yep, it's just a bit too loud compared to the...

Re: Anger, dismay and confusion

I don't know if everyone experiences this but I notice my ''rhythm perception'' can vary.

I can listen to the same recording of myself at different times, and have different opinions, ranging from...

Re: Old and new

Wow. Pretty much nailed it. Although I wonder if that 12-22 age group is flexible. Not everyone develops at the same rate.

Old and new

I went to watch Dennis Chambers in a clinic and I remember someone asking him if he liked Danny Carey. Dennis acknowledged Danny Carey (not sure if it was genuine or not) but said he didn't really...

Re: Do you use moeller for back beats?

Thanks again everyone.

I'm just starting small and watching my arm in the mirror. It's simply not part of the motion.

Brian, I'm not interested in books at this time but I have considered using...

Re: worth it?

Ha, I'm just messin'.

I say it's crappy because you said:

" luckily they pack their drums pretty well so I didn't have any significant damage.. till I got to the 16" drum. one hoop jammed on...

Re: Contemplating a brass-for-brass snare trade

As a side note, I found this while I was listening to the sledgehammer.

That thing is really nice.

Re: Contemplating a brass-for-brass snare trade

That mapex is on the dry side (I've played one and watched Matt Halpern play one in a clinic too).

I don't think I like the appearance of it either but both your and his drums are surely good...

Re: worth it?

If you were meat, you would be spam. Or sausage.

Send that crappy kit back, get on craigslist and get a nice used kit.

Re: Do you use moeller for back beats?

Any suggestions on how I can get my left arm happening?

Play without wrists and fingers for a bit?

Re: Completely out of touch old fart irrelevant opinion - but,

As much as I want to agree, I see merit in those types of events, mostly for people that want to dance, socialize, dress up, get noticed and take recreational drugs. I am over it now but I had some...

Re: Anyone here play 3 up with 10/12/14 on a rack?

Greg Bisonette plays with that configuration in his DVD.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSjzYWD9NHI

There's no reason why an icon rack couldn't do it... I used to play with 8, 10, 12 rack toms...

Re: Bo rants!

If together you're a good band you don't want to throw that away, give it a chance. You might learn to understand the guy and it won't be so scary.

Re: Do you use moeller for back beats?

The thing that I needed to realize most of all is that I don't move my left arm! I only use wrist and fingers.

Bill Bachman - thanks for posting that video, you're a legend, I might hit you up for...

Don't be so gloomy, you might have a good night :)

Re: I Play Better When I Donít Practice

I think your inspiration is low and by the time band practice comes around you've spent it.

I haven't been playing as much lately...

Re: Wrist Sprain, Advice?

I kept practicing a little bit last time my wrists started hurting. The doctor gave me some cream for the inflammation. I dipped my hands and wrists in a bucket of hot water before playing too.

Re: Worst song ever

It's terrible, half baked pop crap, but that's my opinion.

If you want to contribute, please post a song.
