Re: Build my own e-kit...?

harryconway: Hmm, sounds interesting... I'll look into it.
gusty: Yeah, I really like it. The drums don't shake, but I use two rides on it (22" + 20") and if I start going crazy on those, it can get...

Re: Build my own e-kit...?

harryconway:

Re: Bass Drum...Trying to switch to heel up, harder than i thought....

Just keep in mind that you should continue to practise heel-down as well as learning heel-up.

Getting cold feet about working as drummer...

Hi everyone!
I've been playing drums since I was 9 years old, and this year I'm turning 20 years old.
Drumming has been a huge part of my life, and it still is! Now, since I was 13 years old or so...

Re: Ambitious summer practice plan

Go for it man!! =)
Personally I'm studying music, and I practise around 6 hours a day regularly. Now, my advice is to be aware of the fact that it won't ALWAYS be fun, especially in the beginning....

Re: Ladies DrummerWorld Drummers?

That is 100% correct!
Maybe my posts are too feminine...
Or maybe people haven't listened to the genius of Hiromi Uehara (my avatar), and therefore believe I'm that chick. Well, the fantasy stops...

Re: Goal oriented practice? (or the psychology of newbism)

Now, here's what I'd do if I were you:

Drop "The New Breed" for now, seriously. I'm not saying it's not a good book, I love it, but you're just starting out, so you want to work on something...

Re: Having a down period - I feel "locked" and I'm thinking too much...

Well, I'm doing different stuff. I've been doing a lot of musical-theater stuff (45+ musicians in the orchestra!) playing the musical "Olver!" - a pretty huge production over here! At the moment I'm...

Even though it's your opinion and all that, I still can't believe that if you truly dig into this you won't...

Re: groove essentials 2.0

I don't mean to sound rude, but you get nothing from either 1.0 or 2.0? That's just stupid.
If you can't find any challenges in these DVDs/Books, then you have a serious problem regarding personal...
