Re: First time drilling a shell

Nice job! When I first bought a bass drum mounted cymbal holder (same round bracket) it took me forever to install it mostly because I was scared to screw it up. I don't consider myself a handy with...

Re: Gear fail - handled beautifully :)

I try to time my sneeze with a crash or snare hit. Otherwise it can mess with the groove for sure, lol. Keep sticks handy on both sides. Sometimes an itch has to wait depending where it is...

Re: Gear fail - handled beautifully :)

A wing nut is only as good as the cymbal sleeve underneath it. If the wing nut has nothing to tighten down on to (like the shaft of a sleeve) then yeah, it can loosen up and fall off. I replace...

Re: The worst gig of my life

Yeah, for me the issue is gear adjust-ability not quality. If I can set up the kit to my liking I can totally deal with crappy gear. Not ideal but workable. I would rather be comfortable on a CB than...

Re: Ludwig Club Date NOT discontinued

In case anyone missed it here are all my Club Date drums set up together as one big kit.

Re: Ludwig Club Date NOT discontinued

Someone a while back posted a link to an online store that said they were discontinued and we kind of ran with it. It may well have been bad information. Whether it was discontinued and they changed...

Re: Ludwig Club Date NOT discontinued

Funny, that's my least favorite finish. I really like that two-tone ruby sparkle, the silver sparkle (what I have) and the white pearl.

I'd like to see vintage blue sparkle, black diamond, sky...

Re: Ludwig Club Date NOT discontinued

Not the same budget though! I already have 2 Club Date sets so this doesn't affect me but I'm glad that they decided to keep them around a while longer. Some new wraps would be nice. I like the way...

Re: Deal or No Deal ???

Deal! That's very cool looking, I've never seen those before. If you like the sound $120 was an excellent price. I actually don't mind the PDP lugs but that's a matter of taste.

Re: The worst gig of my life

I agree but it's not just about the quality of the kit but your ability to set it up comfortably that is the difference maker. We've all (or most) come across drummers who have everything at odd...

Re: Show your kits that I don't know about

Because that would be a "waist" of time. When you suck at spelling and grammar, calling others out on their mistakes is a little something about a pot and a kettle I've heard about.

Re: The worst gig of my life

I know what that feels like. I had a nightmare gig like that a long time ago. You get through it the best you can. Simplify your parts where possible. Insisting on using your drums in the future may...

Ludwig Club Date NOT discontinued

Not yet anyway. This week on Facebook, Ludwig posted a bunch of pics of the Club Date SE and wrote, "see your local dealer". I went to a shop today to pick up a head and they confirmed it, having...

Re: Twisted Sister Drummer dies

I'm a TS fan. Stay Hungry was an important album for me. Not many drummers have a timeless signature beat and We're Not Gonna Take It has one of the great ones.

Re: Last piece of gear you forgot?

I once forgot my rack tom so I just had the floor. No biggie. I have a vague memory of forgetting my throne once and sitting on milk crates. Not sure if that actually happened or was just a dream.

Re: Gretsch New Classic

That's true, I hadn't thought of that. I would like to see the Renown offered with an 18". If I could find just the 18" bass drum in cherry burst I would consider geting it to have the option (I have...

Re: Gretsch New Classic

And that really is a shame but with all the new intermediate stuff they have out now it's understandable. There's the new RN1 Renown, the Renown Birch, the Marquee... They're almost over represented...

Re: Gretsch New Classic

It's an excellent choice especially if you get a good deal on one. They are very good quality drums.

Re: Other songs that sound like other songs

Lit Up by Buckcherry has almost the exact same riff as Shock Me by KISS.

Re: Craigslist, Best deal ever....NOT

He's out of his mind. This is an extreme example but I don't understand why people do this. Preferring to sell as a package is one thing but to refuse parting certain things just makes no sense. If...

Re: Blurred lines ripped off the "feel"

If ripping off feel is infringement then a lot of people are in trouble.
