Re: Hiring drummers for a project, need drummer advice.

Hmm... I think there's one aspect that is neglected here but it's a crucial one - quality.
And there's not necessarily a direct relation to the track rate of specific drummers. So if the client...

Re: Seeking Metal Drummer with mics

Yeah, I agree - that price range is an outright joke!
It would even be a joke if the drummer came in for the recording, being 100% prepared for the specific material and having learned all parts 'in...

Re: What's your latest purchase?

Wow, it's been a while... The latest purchase were those Axis Longboards (used).
I should really buy a cowbell (or two).

Latest DVDs I got: Claus Hessler - "Drumming Kairos", Mike Mangini - "The...

Re: drummers boot camp

Months? Most likely they don't exist.
Look, do you know the price of regular drum camps with top notch drummers, and those drum camps would last 3-4 days? Now imagine what people would have to pay...

Re: New - official Guru In-Tense video starring David Floegel!

Those drums sound so full and organic, just wonderful! They both look and sound spectacular.

Congrats to David for being a Guru artist now.
Two weeks ago we've been discussing hand patterns at my...

Re: News I had to share with you guys!

Congrats! And thanks for sharing. (We share one thing - our religious 'belief', haha.)

With 3.5 years into drums I can't give you that much advice unfortunately. But as for the chops stuff - play...

Re: Hybrid drummers can I have your attention please?

I'm using both singles and doubles on my feet. Do I qualify as a hybrid drummer?
Just kidding. - Altough... I wasn't sure what the OP meant by 'hybrid drummers' at first.

Re: Looking for good double bass pedal techniques.

"Other than the heel toe" - what do you mean? Can you do it already? Or don't you like how it feels? Or the sound, as you might not be able to get the 2nd stroke as even as the 1st? Do you imply the...

Re: Do you hear sounds or mechanics when you play?

I'm "hearing" both, it's permanently interrelated. The musical result is more important in itself but getting there means executing the "pattern" side cleanly and controlled enough to make the...

Re: how to learn patterns that go over the bar line

I'm not really doing what you're describing but I'm improvising/mixing up patterns/rudiments a lot. I'd say there's 2 things to pay attention to:

-- Have the patterns memorized so playing them is...

Re: Getting the 'pumping forearm' motion into fast doubles?

That has been taking some time to learn for me, too, and it feels a bit harder in left hand lead. So keep on, you'll get there.

I won't go into more detail here - Bill is the man here and he does...

Re: Arguement with Guitarist over time signature

Personally I don't really understand why there's a problem viewing that pattern as triplets in a 4/4 context. I wouldn't prefer 12/8 measure but triplets, but that's just me.

As for guitarists......

Re: What's the best pedal technique study?

What I wanted to post initially was: practice. Because whatever technique you choose, it won't be happening right away. Any technique needs time to literally 'get it' until things start to feel...

Basically no technique by itself, but pushing myself to my max when I bought a double pedal made me 'discover' fast heel up as I made my feet twitch (actually, I hit...

Re: What do you think about Casey Cooper (COOP3RDRUMM3R)

Lol back. It's pretty un-classy to drop terms like "haters" and "dog piling" as soon as a post comes around criticizing some aspects involved with Casey that you might not fully agree with. Seems...
