Re: double bass dvd

Try George Kollias' new DVD "Intense Metal Drumming". I've seen the preview (my copy is in the post) and it looks like it will have everything you will need :-)

I always though it was played as 5's (s t t k k ----- t t t k k ----- t t t k k ----- t t t k k-----s).

Re: Building speed: slow focusing on technique - or just go for it?

I think you certainly have to get the correct body motions, and that can only be done while practicing your technique slowly. But I also think to go fast you just have to go fast - once you have the...

Re: Achieving fast double bass speeds

Well to be honest, I don't really care either way. It's not something I aspire for, but I do think it will be possible one day. People are really good at dismissing people for wanting to achieve...

Re: Achieving fast double bass speeds

.

Not impossible bro - maybe not possible to most just yet. I have seen one guy named Bret Batdorff come very close on Youtube.

.

I'm certainly not bashing you, and if you look through my...

[QUOTE=SickRick;448819]

You see: This is the difference between this board and any other on the net: The guys who are actually DOING it are right here. You cannot go that far out of the window on...

Re: How do I take my drumming to the next level?

I think to take your drumming to the next level you need to be as musical as you can possibly be - no matter what the style. Some musical ideas might require an advancement in drumset technique, some...

Re: Achieving fast double bass speeds

Yeah I have to agree. I've been watching this thread for a wee bit, and personally I think that if Drummerboy30 wants to play double kick at 300bpm then let him and encourage him! I bet 30 years ago...

Re: George Kollias

Nile came to New Zealand and I got to be George's Drumtech for an evening. He is one super-cool guy. Very friendly, and he loves absolutely everything about drumming. One thing I thought was really...

Judas Priest Painkiller Intro

Hey everyone.

This may not be the correct place to post this, but does anybody have this transcribed, or would be able to do it? I'd love to learn it and pull it out at a soundcheck! :-)

Re: I get way too upset when I'm practicing.

Also it helps to remember that drumming isn't a competition. To me it's like a game of golf. When I go out to play, I only go out to better my last score - actually that's a bad analogy as I have...

Re: I get way too upset when I'm practicing.

Also, just quickly - drummer's are (and should be) their own worst critic. That's how we improve :-) Just make sure you set yourself realistic and achievable goals otherwise there will never be that...

Re: I get way too upset when I'm practicing.

Hey bro - you just need to chill out and relax. Your body needs to learn and develop muscle memory, so you need to start what you are trying to practice slowly, and gradually speed up. Remember that...

Re: Post your Greatest Weakness

My greatest weakness are my home made nachos which I think are without a doubt the best in New Zealand. I don't usually like my own cooking, but others have agreed with me in the past.

Re: How to play Iron Maiden?!

Hi,

I play in an Iron Maiden tribute band named "Coffin With Spikes". I've found that to play Maiden you have to swing! Nicko had a lot of jazz influences so his playing isn't straight (at least...
