Re: Sound man knows best?

It sounds like he originally had the right idea with the overheads. Who suggested he go away from that?

Best all around snare is a 402 no question. Get one and you won't regret it.

I don't even know what Hurst's is but you should be able to get it at any hardware store.

Re: Waffling around the kit

I get that the playing on a cheese kit is a cool (ie. different) idea, but why an entire room full of people would actually sit through a drum solo that sounds like a frantic circle jerk with...

Re: Holding your drumset hostage

The lawyer sounds like a good idea in theory but the SOB bloodsucker will probably bill him for more than the drum set cost :(

I don't see why you have a problem with any of it. People are expressing themselves. Get over it.

Re: I got my cymbals from ebay. Now the drums!

10/13/16.... best of both worlds. Of course they don't sell that as a kit, but it's a good setup :)

If I had to choose I'd go with the SRO Mapex configuration of 10/12/16. The 14" floor tom by...

Re: Are Metal Drummers over-rated?

Like your first post, mine was tongue in cheek. I posted the exact same thing in the Jazz thread. Get over it already.

Re: Are Metal Drummers over-rated?

The title of the thread IS a question. How don't you get that?

Also, since it's a stupid thread to begin with, I didn't deem it worthy of reading. I figured if you're going to post a thoughtless...

If I were in your situation I would go to the conservatory. Don't let the girlfriend affect your decision.

Re: DW Collector's Series NEW $2427 - good deal?

I tried 'em and they are g-o-o-d! Just don't wanna pay more than I can recover when I find something better :) They already had the heads I like on em so all I had to do is tune em to my liking.

Re: DW Collector's Series NEW $2427 - good deal?

I guess I should explain my idea of a good deal. I wanna be able to get most or all of my money back out of it when I sell it. Does it fit that?

DW Collector's Series NEW $2427 - good deal?

I saw these at the local GC.

It's Collector Series in broken glass wrap brand new.

10, 12, 14, 16 and 18x22.

Is $2427 a great deal or just average?

They also have the same setup in black...
