I'm trying to play along with the recording and it's making me crazy. It starts with that guitar chord. I know it's really on the 4& but since it the first thing you hear and it repeats every 4...

Re: 36" kick?

Perfect for homeless drummer. A place to sleep between gigs. Then just hamster-wheel it to the next gig.

Doc Sweeney drums

Anyone have any experience with Doc Sweeney Drums? Custom shop in California. They look very nice, but there seems to be very little user feedback around.

Copper Hoops

I'm looking a a Ludwig Raw Copperphonic that has polished copper hoops. It's kind of strange looking. Just wonder how copper hoops hold up both structurally and aesthetically.

Re: Help with hand pain, stiffness

A cortisone shot may help. I just saw a hand specialist for problems with my thumb due to arthritis. Seems to help a lot

Re: I can't buy a high end snare drum

Thing is, Im very fortunate, I have 2 nice kits and 3 nice snares already. I just love drums. I’m always reconfiguring them retuning them. And sometimes even playing them. So I always want more to...

Re: Drum & Cymbal Company Logos

I'm sure the only reason Sakae went out of business was because of their ridiculous badges.

Re: I can't buy a high end snare drum

I think the law of diminishing returns really applies to drums. The only real reason to buy an $1000 snare drum is because you like the look and feel of the construction.

Re: I can't buy a high end snare drum

To me high-end is over $500, but really high-end is over 800.

I can't buy a high end snare drum

I keep wanting to buy a nice really high-end snare and will spend hours researching, pricing, listening to YouTube videos. But when the time comes, I always get hung up on the fact that, for the same...

Re: New snare videos!

Great sounding kit. I would choose the DW or DrumCraft bronze as my favorites. Thanks for the videos.

Re: New kit time :)

I don't understand and why so many people say the tom mount on the kick is so convenient. The clamp to hang it on a stand is usually lighter and you have more freedom to move the drum where you want...

Re: Considering my “retirement” kit

I have a Legacy Mahogany kit and I just bought a DW performance kit. I really like them both. The Ludwig has a more muted sound but it has great tone. The DW is much more lively.
The band I'm in...

Re: Did recording yourself make you a better player, and how?

Using recording, I learned very quickly that what I hear myself doing while playing is often not what's coming out of the kit. Your brain sometimes hears what you think you are doing and it sounds...

Does adding this Tom make sense?

I currently have a DW performance kit 1 up & 1 down. I’d Like to add another high Tom. I have a 12x8 and a16x16 now. Normally I would add a10” to the kit, but that is no longer possible as the color...
