The price sounds about right and I have the 12x7 Cherry/Maple. I love it. I wouldn't use it for a main snare just because it's a 12. A 13x6 would be fine for a main snare.

I'm a woman and I can't get waited on in a Best Buy either. I think that happens in just about every store that isn't specifically geared towards women, like say a nail shop.
