A matching snare came with my Catalina Maples, but I hardly use it. I did however put new snare wires and heads on it and it sounds pretty good.

I have often wondered how shorter than required snare wires would affect the overall performance of a snare. I'm sorry but I'm no help either, but I am sure someone will come along an enlighten us...

Great show by both acts, but Bruno Mars was spectacular. I had never watched him perform and was stunned. He is an all around entertainer.
