Re: Shawn Drover quits Megadeth...

Next man up....drums and guitar....there will be plenty of folks ready, able and willing to fill those slots if Mega is going to continue forward. Mustaine will have no shortage.

Re: Who does this, really?

If Bo's truck bed is carpet and/or rubber mat lined.....then the trip in the truck is not a mean mistreater.....the drums probably don't slide or bang into anything. Personally, I don't do it....but...

Re: Possibly my first serious thread. Sexism.

my response to this sensitive topic is that....well, the world and the people in it are not ideal. Throughout our lives we will be confronted with others that may be lacking in social skills, having...

Re: Really, was this planned...?

Never....no drum kit is worth that when it is to be used by me. I can stink it up equally as well on a $700 rig; no need to do so on an overpriced white elephant like that. No disrespect to SG....I...

Re: gig money for minor

Good call re grades and responsibilities....and, well, I don't agree your child should get a reduced cut at any time....the job is the job and if he does the job and carries his share, then he should...

Re: question to all drummers

Exactly...there is no need for a fancy setup with mics, etc....I've also done this with the over-the-counter IEMs you mentioned and it works just as well...the kit maybe sounds a little better...

Re: Torn calf muscle

Sorry to hear it man....I know I would be very bummed having to be off the kit so hang in there and let yourself heal properly. The work on the pad will pay big dividends so all is not lost and you...

Re: question to all drummers

I've been using custom molded in ear monitors to play along with stuff....they provide 26dB of isolation from the outside world.

I run the iPod through my in ears and just let the acoustic sound...

Re: Shoes and Gloves

I don't like anything that isolates me from the feel of the stick or the pedals....of course that's just my preference. I go barefoot on the pedals, no gloves on the hands; that's just what feels...

Re: Clapton - Blues before sunrise ?

Good stuff fellas....playing the blues is underrated and likely develops more skills as a musician and as a band member than other style except jazz. It requires responsibility, *dynamics*, tone and...

Re: Charlie Watts: Drum Mentor

With monikers like "Moon-Unit" up for potential consideration, I think I would be relieved that my parents stopped at Jagger....

Re: Realistic Expectations

Absolutely. Very high regard indeed!

I will also add that Mr. Starkey did have quite a nice right hand sticking technique on those hats...it's a little tiring and challenging to get on those hats...

Re: so my band wants to do top 40s...

I pretty much have the same mindset...music is not my source of income so I don't have to go-a-along to get-a..-paid.

Of course there are always consequences with polarizing decisions...If I...

Re: Yet another reason to tear down and load out right after the gig is over...

I suspect that on the recorded snares you referenced that you may also be lumping...
