Not even a year after I bought it, the wrap on my drum set is starting to bubble in a couple of areas. I was hoping on taking the wrap off, and sanding and staining it because I like a natural finish...

Unique snare accessories

What are some unique things to put on a snare to get a synthetic, or just a different sound? Things that Chris Dave, Eric Harland, or Jamie Williams would use.

Snare Drum Differences

Thick vs. Thin shell? Deep vs. Shallow? Degree of Bearing edge? 42 strand vs. 16 strand? How do all of these play a part in overall tone of a snare?

I had an Evans head on it, and the coating only lasted a month. I have an Aquarian Texture coated on now, and that is so far the best one as far as coating durability, but it is starting to lose its...

Throw out some snare drumheads that do not really have a coating, but that are good for brushes. The only one that I know of that is like that is the Remo Fiberskin, but I would like to explore other...
