I kind of feel ya. I would never use one as a main snare with the type of music i'm into but as a side shure. I use a 12x5 and a 13x3.5 right now on the side.

Yes it will. With probably any head you want. And if you get a 22" kick the superkick 1 would be my first choice in a head. Punchy with good volume.

The Tama is the only one that i haven't played because its not set up. It also doesn't come with any mounts for the toms or any legs for the floor tom somehow they got missplaced.
