Re: Sean Reinert

Yeah, it's a shame he made the switch to Tama. His Sonor kit was beautiful and sounded amazing.

Re: Are Metal Drummers over-rated?

Or you could try reading the thread before commenting.

It's a real shame that more hasn't been said about the Sean Reinert video that has been posted twice in this thead. He's an amazing drummer,...

Re: Thomas Pridgen

It's true. The Mars Volta have been playing shows with new drummer Dave Elitch for several months now - I saw them myself about a week ago. I was pretty bummed out when I heard the news because I was...

Re: Developing Ankle Motion

Thanks. That pretty much accurately describes the issue I was having. I'd been able to do individual feet ankle strokes, but I found it very difficult to balance when both feet were in the air. I'll...

Developing Ankle Motion

I've been wanting to become better at double bass for a long time now - and for the past while I have been working at playing slow speeds to a metronome to develop the leg motion (I'm learning to...

Re: Thomas Pridgen

I saw him play with The Mars Volta last night and words cannot describe how insane he is! The performance was perhaps the single most amazing thing I've ever seen, and extremely exhilarating. His kit...

Re: Mike Mangini using fingers.

Jeff, that sounds incredible! Any indication as to when we'll be seeing this book/dvd? I certainly could use an efficient co-ordination practice method right now ;D.

Re: Modern Drummer DVD

I heard that MD Festival was cancelled this year due to being unable to find a venue?
I also just got the DVD for Christmas and so far I've watched Brann Dailor, Steve Smith, Aaron Spears and Dave...

Re: Rhythm magazine (UK)

The review:

Introducing a remarkable drummer
Cerebral palsy hasn't stopped Hewitt from drumming, and this DVD introduces his inspirational techniques. 14 minutes, though, doesn't do him justice...

Re: starting off double bass

I would suggest warming up in advance before hopping on your kit - maybe tapping your shoes on the ground both heel up and heel down on the floor and work it up to your full speed. Then when you hop...

Re: German Grip Finger Use?

I can execute the technique in French grip because the stick has a free range of movement up and down because the tip of the stick is travelling down to the drum head, which is possible in French...

Re: German Grip Finger Use?

Re: German Grip Finger Use?

What is happening to me now is that my palms are facing up, and my thumb and index finger are acting as a hinge for the stick to bounce up and down. I figured that i'd pull my back fingers up, which...
