Re: New Rogers Snare Drums.

I don't know about the pricing in the US but over here in northern Europe it's about the same as a new Supraphonic.

Re: New Rogers Snare Drums.

I've played a new 14"×5" and I loved it, that said there is something special with the old ones! Perhaps nostalgia, I couldn't say.

Re: If 'Bohemian Rhapsody' was released today...

A great song is a great song, and I believe BR could have been a giant hit if released today IF the radio stations had a little more courage than they have today.

Re: Do you own a bop kit?

I have Gretsch New Classic, 12" 14" &18" and they're great. Build quality and soundwise. They didn't cut it with the rock band I'm playing with though, bought another kit for that, but for lower...

Re: Double Shuffle - Arms, Wrists, Fingers

In my humble experience push-pull is the way to get a fluid shuffle going. Preferabely in french grip, and the pull of the fingers would be on 1,2,3 and 4. Let the hand and arm come up on the "pull"...

Re: What are your favorite earplugs?

I bought some very expensive molded earplugs 3 years ago since my tinnitus is getting worse. I'm stupid enough not to wear them though as I don"t hear the nuances in what I'm playing. I tell myself...

Re: Question about push-pull technique

Well, my first language is not english so sometimes I may not be easy to understand. What I'm curious about is if the best way when playing a shuffle is to pull (or close fingers) on the accented...

Re: Do you have a piece of equipment that you've used since day 1 and still use it regularly?

Still have a 22" A Zildjian hollow logo medium ride, I bought it used probably in the late seventies, made it to a sizzle ride with four rivets sometime down the line and I played it yesterday along...

Re: Hey Joe: Great drumming or overplaying?

Nah, no overplaying, just some intensity. Great drumming for my ears, I wish more music could be a bit more free and not so quantized and held back.

Question about push-pull technique

How do you go about the push-pull technique when you play either straight 16:ths or shuffled; do you push on the "one" or pull or the "one"? I tend to push on the one in both cases but I'm not sure...

Re: Under Rated or Fairly Unknown Drummers

Yes, he was a fantastic drummer, I love his drumming on Reed's "Sally can't dance". I thought he was from Finland but I may be wrong, don't want to argue with Buddy, do I?

Re: Gary O'Toole departs Steve Hackett band

Last time I saw Steve he had Nad Sylvan on vocals, I don't know if Nad still is with Steve, I hope so because it worked out pretty well.

Re: Ever have a drumming dream?

Many years ago I had to sub for Carl Palmer in ELP, "Karn Evil 9" was the first song in the set list. I had to muscle it out, but as far as I remember it went OK.
Some weeks ago I started to learn...

Re: Trainwrecks anyone?

Oh yes, many years ago my bandmates changed setlist without saying so, I counted off what I thought was a fast shuffle and the others started to play something completely different. I wasn't amused...
