The gotcha with a 42 is the width of the snare bed that is required for it to seat properly.
If your snare bed isn't wide enough to accommodate the width of the 42,your snares will just rattle.

I've got two Yamahas that came with aluminum die cast hoops and the chrome wasn't as sparkly as the zinc die cast.
Must have something to do with the plating process.

Just bought a Taye copper piccolo off of Craigslist and replaced the old rims with the new diecast.

Needed to clean some of the dust grunge off the hoops and some of the lug holes weren't open all...

I remember the Kanzaki lounge in San Fran where Dave Garabaldi and Will Kennedy used to sit in and Larry Blakes in Berkeley where Steve Smith and Rayford Griffin used to play in the Rathskeller bar...

Seen lots of great brand name drummers playing local bar gigs back in the day (Rayford Griffin,Gary Mallabar,Will Kennedy,James Bradly jr,Ndugu Chancellor,Alphonse Mouzon)come to mind.

10 lugs ,reverse flanged hoops,USA Evans heads ,red mahogany finish.

I can find nothing wrong with this snare.
Great build ,finish ,very sensitive and a nice loud...

China is the 2nd largest producer of aluminum in the world (Russia is #1) and the US is #5.

Shandong Xinfa Aluminum & Electricity Group Ltd is #8 ,which is where these hoops shipped from.
