Re: Picking a cajon

The difference between a good cajon and a bad one is how it sounds not how much it cost. And you are the person who decides if it sounds good or bad. Do a little research on you tube and just try to...

Re: Anybody rockin 13-16-20?

I do and really like it. If you look back there were a lot of vintage kits that were packaged that way. Gretsch, Ludwig and Rogers all had kits in that configuration. Sometimes I even like to...

Re: Ludwig Snare Find....worth anything?

You did a great justice for that snare. It looks good as new and as long as it sound good to you than that was money well spent. Anxious to hear about the rest of the set.

Re: Zebrano Tour series snare video - the competition prize snare :)

I am so OLD fashioned that I always like the low and fat tunings on almost all snare drums. But I must say that the medium tunings on this drum sound just like that snare drum that I have in my mind....

Re: Gretsch orphans or new kit?

If you plan to gig with the kit I would definately go with the wrap. I'm guessing that the wrap will not only be more durable but it will probably be cheaper to do.

Re: Deal or No Deal ???

Thanks for the hole spacing measurements. The PDP lugs have stopped me from buying a PDP snare. And have been the reason for selling a nice PDP CX kit.

Re: Deal or No Deal ???

Cool deal. I've been looking for one of those myself. I just wonder if there are any bolt on aftermarket lugs that will bolt right on and replace the PDP lugs ? Hope you enjoy it. Sound clip would...

Re: New Snare ??

I would suggest a Pearl Sensitone Elite Aluminum a better built drum than a Acrolite very much the same sound just better built. Also the Ludwig Supralites a very good deal for the money, really...

Asking your opinion.

Just wondering how you all feel about changing drum heads from one drum to another drum. I have a pretty good collection of drum heads. I've tried this set of heads on this set of drums but didn't...

Beautiful drum and a very nice job-----------but please get those ugly PDP lugs off of it and replace it with something that suits the quality drum better.

Re: Dry heads for ludwig blackrolite acrolite snare?

My all time favorite head on my supra has been the Evans EC Reverse dot. not too dry but with just enough overtones for depth. As a matter of fact I have used this on just about every snare that I...

Re: Older PDP FS Hardware Q's

To me that mount looks more like Yamaha than a Pearl. If the rod is octagon shaped then I bet you could find used Yamaha parts to fix what you need for the tom mount. You should be able to find the...

Re: Multiple Kit Owners, Show Your Favorite Kit

As of now I have a 1963/64 Ludwig kit and a new Taye kit. I really thought that the Ludwig kit would be my last kit but you all know how that goes. The Ludwigs are 13, 16, 22. I bought the Taye in...
