Funny I played with a 14x5,5 Bamboo tuned low, with a vintage head and a external mufler as a snare/floortom (placed between the racktom and floortom) yesterday. really fun.

It looks to have a spring on that picture. Yet every strainer I know of, has a spring. Is that bad? Ive tried it and is just as solid as the other ones. Just sleeker. Also three step tension setting...

They had 4 runs of the Manu, so it depends on which model. The two latest didn't had a seamless shell like this one does if i'm not mistaken.

Thats a original Yamaha 14x4,5 Maple Custom snare. Its hand rubbed oil which gets better looks every year.

My Oak Custom has a Pinstripe on the 12'' which has a die cast hoop too. It still sings...
