I played for 10 years a Tama Rockstar 22"x16" kick drum. Last year Lignum drums re-edged the whole kit making the drum sound better then new !

The 22"x16" is quit a monster actually ... its a loud...

How can you possibly hide the inner fixings ? ... you "screw" everything in place ?

Its located in Belgium, one more reason I prefer Lignum over others :).

The Starphonic strainer is also amazingly smooth ... you don't feel it tensioning. And like you mention, the tension can be set on both sides of the snare (like most Starclassic...

But you're right, I think I won't buy other stuff ever. Sometimes I'm on a take for a Ludwig BB, but then I look back at Tama ... and I see how much better they're stuff is build.

To prevent my bassdrum from moving around, I've mounted 2 wooden blocks trough the carpet in front of the spurs. Wooden, cause I've no tools to make metal blocks .. but they still do the job easily....

Yep ... Tama has always impressed me with they're designs. Not only good sound, but smart design ... like the simpel cut-away in de bottom hoop ... sush a simpel but genious solution.
