Re: Anyone here play 3 up with 10/12/14 on a rack?

Cool! Don't suppose you have any pictures of that?

Re: Anyone here play 3 up with 10/12/14 on a rack?

Not seen that before - cheers . . .

Yeah, I'm sure it's doable - it's just you don't see it that much. I'd prefer to have 10/12/14/16 as 3-up-1-down rather than 2-up-2-down and an 8 would be too...

Re: Anyone here play 3 up with 10/12/14 on a rack?

Oh absolutely, I'm just wondering whether 10/12/14 up per se is going to work - otherwise it would be a case of 10/12 up 14/16 etc down. The only reason I brought racks into it is I would rather do...

Re: Anyone here play 3 up with 10/12/14 on a rack?

Thanks, that looks good. In which case, do you (or anyone else) think that a 14x12 could sit comfortably on rack over a 22" bass drum? Bearing in mind I'm not massively tall, so wouldn't want to...

Anyone here play 3 up with 10/12/14 on a rack?

Am looking to change configuration and have limited experience of racks: anyone here got pictures of their set up with 10/12/14 up on a rack? Would such a configuration comfortably fit on the Pearl...

Re: Which is/was heavier - Sonor Designer or Yamaha RC?

Cheers for the input - I've decided to pass on that Designer kit: as gorgeous as I'm sure it is the bass drum alone looks like a tank which is the antithesis of what I want right now.

Re: Which is/was heavier - Sonor Designer or Yamaha RC?

Yeah, it's not looking good . . . I mean, I don't take the kit out as much as I used to but it's nice to have that option. Unfortunately I have neither the wallet nor the space to have a stay-at-home...

Which is/was heavier - Sonor Designer or Yamaha RC?

I know that the Designer came in different shell types, but broadly speaking how did they compare to the RC in terms of weight?

To explain: I have an RC kit that I'm looking to change - nowt wrong...

Re: Really wanky behaviour....

More alarm bells right there, mate. Got myself into that situation a while back and became so sick of shitty gigs and the morons who put them on I didn't touch my kit for over a year. Didn't even...

Re: Really wanky behaviour....

This part rang the biggest alarm bells for me: "charity" or not, one can always sniff out the shysters - not just by the fact that they get you to work for nothing, but by how much work they get you...

Re: What do you look for in a company drum video?

Some indication as to how portable the drums are might be useful. Don't you do a 20" by 12" bass drum? Maybe a brief montage showing how easily that kit fits into the average hatchback/onto the...

Re: Need a bit of help.

Viewed on Android 4.1.2 - works like a dream.
iOS 5.1.1 - not so much: though this may be a failing of the hardware (ipad 1) which seems to be loading the desktop site rather than a mobile site. As...

Re: The 20" shallower bass drum, not as easy to find as I thought

I find the current fad for overly-deep bass drums bloody annoying. Last March I did some digging in this subject and found a few things that might fit the bill . . .

Re: Ringo Starr... Good or bad?

That's kind of you to say, thank you. Although, to be fair, I don't know about "monthly" - this thread started about 2 years ago didn't it? Have there been a few since then? I haven't been around...

Re: The big debate: tribute bands - yay or nay!?

In terms of non-musical performing, it happens in Theatre as well: someone whose name I forget went to great lengths to build a replica of the Globe Theatre in London so we could all watch...

Re: Is it unethical to buy drums made in China?

If you're concerned about making as little negative impact on the planet as possible then why not buy a used kit from somewhere that's as close to you as possible? Just make sure when you go to pick...

Re: Are Ludwig Supraphonics really that good a snare

At the time, used 402s were thin on the ground in my neck of the woods. Unfortunately, in the UK, Ludwigs in general are (in my experience) nowhere near as prevalent as the other big brands these...

Re: The Douchiest Drummers of All Time

Oh, okay - I thought this was going to be another thread about that chap with the big white Mapex kit. Imagine my disappointment . . .

Re: Are Ludwig Supraphonics really that good a snare

Going back to the OP's OP, I played a 400 for the first time last year (after nearly 25 years of drumming) and was also a little disappointed. I then played a 402 and was blown away. I guess that...

Re: Yamaha Japanese made drums

Aquarian manufactures in Mexico. I've yet to have a problem with one of their heads that came out of that country.

Re: Talkin Headz (UK) issues

Avoid that guy like the plague. I know a guy who worked for him when his shop was still open and in the end my friend had to leave because he hadn't been paid for several months.

I shelled out...

Re: Noise complaint filed against me. (Background info included.)

Cheers, that's very kind - sort of surprised to see this thread resurrected: wonder what became of the OP and his predicament . . .

I think what struck me at the time was that there has been an...
