Re: Snare for a $200 budget

Rogers Powertone will get you 8 lugs, chrome over brass shell, an indestructible totally dependable throw off, fantastic sensitivity, and really cool vintage mojo. And all right in your budget range.

Re: Anyone prefer standard depth?

Five inchers and Six Point Fivers... have been the two basic standards most of my life. Six is sort of an oddball size. Five and a half..... that's been around a long time too, vintage Slingerland...

Re: Wrong size tension rods?

Too bad I did not know about this earlier. I was in Sac today.

Re: A Question To Those That Collect A Number Of Drum Kits

I "collect" Rogers. My collection spans 1961-1984. There are 8 sets and close to 30 snare drums.
So I guess I would answer yes to at least one or two of your questions. .

I doubt re-wrap. This color was only produced for about five years. It has never been duplicated to my knowledge.

Re: Trusting others with your kit?

I have loaned a thousand dollar vintage snare drum to a fifth grader.

Re: Rogers Dynasonic Custom Built Snare 10 Lugs

Not that I am biased or anything....

I do own a BB Supersensitive 5" and a 6.5 Ludalloy Supersensitive.

But there are 12 Dyna-Sonics.

A complete drum should be had in very good condition...

Re: Late 60's Rogers Powertone

They come up so rarely it is indeed hard to set a price. Thing is, they are always expensive, and leaning towards wood dynasonic territory.

Good luck.

Re: New Drums Need Info/Help! Vintage Rogers Kit
