Re: Charlie Watts Quits the Stones

If it were true, news writers missed a golden opportunity for a headline...

"CHARLIE WATTS HAS NO MORE STONES!"

I'm gonna go back to practicing now...

Re: Anyone feel guilty for making 'noise'?

Nope. No guilt. Play during reasonable hours, include your neighbors. Then the only 'noises' you have to feel guilty about while playing involve bodily functions or a partner....

Re: Using Newspaper As Drum Wrap ??

Ah, the LINK! Federal agents raid the gun shop using the "missing" vehicle. A distraction is created when the gun shop owner's attorney sues himself, plus the "volunteers" who are looking for civil...

Re: Best new/used maple kit under $1000?

Try eBay. Be persistant & patient. I found a *new* Gretsch Renown 5 piece shell pack for $1049 free shipping. Almost made me cry......Shell packs from Sonor 3007 ($1047) Yamaha Tour Custom ($949)...

Re: Cadeson vs Gretsch vs PDP

I saw a set of new Renowns's (4 piece shell pack) going for $1049/free shipping on eBay. However, my Sonor 3005's are one sweet kit. My vote would be for the 3007's. The best way is to sit down &...

Re: Best Complete Set. ($1000 - $1500)

Check eBay. Look hard & often. You can find a great used kit for that range easily. I've seen Yamaha Absolutes, Gretsch Renowns, vintage Luddies, etc. all in that range. If you have to go new I...

Re: Sonor 3007 kit selection

I have the Stage II 3005's. The smaller toms (10, 12) work great for any type of music. The 16 floor tom tunes over a wide range & the bass is a cannon. Heads do make a difference. The stock ones are...

Re: My next drums... Yamaha Gretsch or Phattie?

The Renown's would be my choice. I see them going in Gold Inca sparkle w/20" BD & hardware for $1600 on the 'net.

Re: Mapex Saturn vs Yamaha recording custom

The RC's are better compared to Mapex's Orion's. Go with the RC's.

Re: Looking at a new drum set - Pearl Masters MCX or PDP Platinum

Another option is to get the PDP & spend the difference on a good rack system....Although I agree with the above posts. The kits are apples & oranges.

Re: Question about a Sonor special edition set

The Special Edition set on MF is a Force 2007 birch kit. You would be very happy with it. MF has 45 day return policy & they pay the return shipping so you can't lose. Order 'em, get excited & have...

Re: Saving for new Drum Kit and Cymbals, what should i get?

Upgrade your pies (cymbals) first. Try some different skins on your kit to get an idea of what head creates what sound. Play with tuning your kit now before you get a new kit.

Then look for a...

Re: Mapex M-birch or Sonor 3005 Maple

Go with the Sonor's. What the seller is talking about is a little rubber "foot" that goes over the kick drum spur. Nothing you can't replace & doesn't take away from the kit at all. Post pics after...

Re: What Snare is better?

Neither is "better". However, the 3007 has 10 lugs vs. 8 on the 2007. More lugs gives a bit wider tuning range on a snare. Soundwise I don't think you would hear a difference.
