Re: This was from 31 YEARS ago...

Bought Spring Session M when it came out. Was about the only New Wave-ish music I ever liked.

Re: OSP brand

If it is the same OSP that I have seen it is a house brand for Sigler Music, based in Arkansas (had three stores at one time). If I remember correctly OSP stood for "Official Sigler Product".

I...

Re: Too late to start? (19)

I was 18 when I first started playing. Go forth, young man, and have fun.

Re: Bass drum AND a floor tom?

I'm not worried about switching it back and forth quickly, just like the idea that I could use it as one or the other if need be.

Bass drum AND a floor tom?

Many moons ago before I got interested in micro kits and the idea of converting floor toms into bass drums, I saw a photo (maybe on eBay...not sure) of a floor tom that someone had mounted bass drum...

Re: Best way to go about selling cymbals? If I put them on craigslist, should I put a set price?

If you are going to do a "or best offer" option, you might as well just put your bottom dollar amount on it and be done. "OBO" tells me you are already going to take less than the price you...

Re: Need some info about Sonor Force 1001 drum kit

Sonor's bottom end kit at the time it came out. Not totally horrible, but their entry level kit nonetheless. And yes, good heads and tuning can perk things up.

Re: Have you ever gigged or practiced without a bass player?

Was in a band for over a year that had no bass player, mainly because we had trouble finding one. Acoustic guitar EQed lower than normal, electric lead/rhythm, and drums. Worked out well. Had many...

Re: Chrome peeling: re-chrome it, wrap it, or leave it alone?

I never went any further with it. I decided to just leave it be.

Seems I heard this speech before though. Maybe my high school graduation?

Re: Hey look, a distraction

Most people have some kind of interest. It seems the norm with people I know for their spouses or family to be fine with a person spending hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars on hunting or...

Re: What would you do if a band member accused you of stealing his stuff?

DMC...off the subject but this reminds me of what you are talking about:

A friend of mine and his wife were trying to potty train their son. He was about 3 1/2 years old at the time and still was...

Re: What would you do if a band member accused you of stealing his stuff?

Next time he brought it up I'd say "well...who do you think took them?". If he skirts the issue, I'd say "it sounds like you think someone here took them". He wants to accuse but does not want to...

Re: Will i be able to play real drums???

Taking lessons will be a way to show your parents if your interest is serious or just impulsive. Most parents don't want to invest $300+ in something that will be collecting dust in the garage in two...

Re: Here's an interesting snare to look at

If this had been a homemade project one of you guys had pieced together in your garage I would have thought it was cool, but for something that was put out by a drum manufacturer...(raised eyebrow).

Re: Putting myself out there ( uncle Larry, this ones for you)

I've put out an ad on craigslist before that was similar to yours: laying it all out on the table and just being frank. Got very few responses, but it seemed to weed out the "hey man I'm 16 and have...

Re: Slowing down a live song.

I am pretty good at starting songs at the right tempo. Yeah I goof on occasion but when I do I own up to the mistake before anyone else has a chance to point it out because I feel bad about it. But...

Ian Paice backing Paul McCartney doing 50s rock from Live At Cavern Club video. David Gilmour is out of his usual realm too.
