Re: 22" Bass Drum with no volume

I agree that the size it-self should give enough volume. I think it's 22" X 16". But it doesn't.
I couldn't belief my ears when i realized my 18" bass drum was louder. But it is.

Yes if I remove...

Re: 22" Bass Drum with no volume

Well, it was a coated drum when I bought it. I removed the old coating when I re-wrapped them. The old coating was thin, and not glued on. I put on the the new coating, which is "good quality" and...

22" Bass Drum with no volume

Hello Gentleman,

I've got an 25 years old Pearl drum-kit.

Why vintage?

Gentlemen!
I'm going for another snaredrum, and I was wondering:

Should I by a new or an old snare?

Are old drums sounding better, worse or just different?

Thanks!

Does anyone know how that sound was achieved?

Re: The "flat surface test": Help me solve a tuning mystery

Let me just clarify one thing:
When I say that I tune the drums by notes, it means the I tune EACH LUG by notes - using my ears.

My 10" tom is tuned so it produces a G# at each lug.

My 14" tom...

Re: Ian Paice
