Re: Difficult band members

You know man, I really think your right. In just so burnt on the situation in the band at this point. The singer and guitar player really seem to want to make a change for the better. So I almost...

Re: Difficult band members

To be honest man I can't function like that. I have an opinion and feel it should be given the same about credibility as anyone else in the band. I cant just shut my mouth and play the drums

Re: Difficult band members

This sums up my bass player to a t. Only he is a really good player. But hes also a total pre madonna.

Like I said, he has been much better as of late. But it could be way to little at this point.

Re: Difficult band members

I had another rehearsal tonight with the singer and guitar player. The guitar player told me that he was going to try to be more open to my ideas and opinions in the band. He acknowledged the fact...

Re: Difficult band members

Re: Difficult band members

I admit that Im far from perfect. Im obsessive and can be very headstrong at times. But I really do try to treat others with kindness and I really do try to be easy going. I let things go all the...

Re: Difficult band members

My biggest worry about cutting free from this band is how hard it may be to find other players that are truly serious and want to do music full time through recording and touring. It took me 3 years...

Re: Difficult band members

I will say that at times I really don't enjoy being around some of the band members. Sometimes there is a ton of tension in the air at practice. To be honest I have wanted to part with one of the...

Difficult band members

Are you in a band with band members who you don't gel with as people but you play great music together? One member in particular in my band fits this bill with me. And too a degree another band...

Trick drums questions

I know there have been threads on Trick drums before, but I would like to approach this thread from a different perspective (hopefully). Sadly I have never had the chance to hear a Trick kit first...

Re: Felt vs plastic

The more I listen to my kick with a mic running the sound through my headphones using a hard plastic beater the less I like the sound. Its very slappy sounding and to my ear sounds somewhat...

Re: Lasting impressions

Cowboys is a killer album. Thats the first album I heard from Pantera and it made an impression on me immediately.

Lasting impressions

What are some past or present albums that have had or are having a lasting impact on your drumming, musical taste and development and overall enjoyment of music?

Some of mine, in no particular...

Re: The worst gig of my life

Maybe I will. If so you will always be able to use your own gear at my place! But like I said, if all drummers were to band together and refuse to be treated with disrespect by the owners etc of...

Re: The worst gig of my life

I do agree that being able to adapt is an important skill. I just think that we as drummers should not have to be given a choice of "use this kit or dont play". I find that to be a very disrespectful...

Re: The worst gig of my life

Agreed on your assessment on the criticisms.

As for my avatar, Im a devout Christian. I play in a metal band. 3 of us in the band are Christians. 1 is not. We play bars, Christian clubs, churches,...

Re: The worst gig of my life

That's what I was thinking when I read his posts. The reality is some people are just jerks. But I don't sweat it because what's the point.

I was told by the club there was a kit share before we...

Re: The worst gig of my life

Just to say, my band really had no major complaints about my playing on that gig. My bass player even commentedand how tight my time was. I was the one that was really upset about it after we got off...

Re: The worst gig of my life

Its true that I have taken some of the things that were said here personally. Such as
"If you were halfway as good as you think you are, you could have adjusted your playing." as well as other...

Re: The worst gig of my life

I do feel the need to say that if I have absolutely no other choice but to use a backline kit I will. All Im saying is that Im going to go out of my way to only use my own gear. If I am told that I...

Re: The worst gig of my life
