Re: Step one to learning ;)

I see a 6 stroke roll between a 5 and a 7 stroke roll:

rrllr - llrrl = 5 stroke roll

rrllrrl - llrrllr = 7 stroke roll

rrllrr - llrrll - 6 stroke roll

RlrLrl - LrlRlr = setuplet ...

Re: If you were sitting behind my kit.

Well done!

I can't find a picture of it either. You'll have to post some when you get it.

Those cymbals will be around later. The snare - maybe not.

Probably still some around, but it's...

Re: Top 5 Metal Snares

I've at least tried, if not owned, a lot of the ones listed.

I guess I'm pretty easy to please.
This one has everything I want in a metal snare (Pearl S1370s):

Re: buying all new

That's a great looking kit - both drums and cymbals.

Are those die cast rims? Your Superstars look a lot different than the new ones available in the US.
They don't have die cast rims or full...

Re: Maple kit alternative to yamaha MCA? Jazz/funk

What kinds of drums do you commonly see in Sweden?

Do you have any stores that carry a lot of different lines to choose from?

Re: New Snare ??

I got one of the aluminum Sensitones when they were being cleared out for the new models.

They called it Sensitone Elite though. Nice drum:

Re: Maple kit alternative to yamaha MCA? Jazz/funk

Well lalle81, you're a lot closer to knowing what you want than most people who post 'what drum set should I get' on here.
You listed preferred sizes, shell material, and a price range.

If you're...

Re: Help me choose a second snare drum

If you hit it with a drumstick and not a sledge hammer, you should be good to go.

LOL

Re: Maple kit alternative to yamaha MCA? Jazz/funk

Sorted by Shell Material - Maple, this place lists 71 new kits available:

What sort of price range are you looking at?

Re: Help me choose a second snare drum

I think that's the one for you.

You mentioned it twice, it was at the top of your first list,
it looks good, it sounds good, and the price is right.
Go for it.

Re: Would you buy this?

I would have absolutely no interest in it.

But if you think it'd be cool, and you've got the money for it - sure, why not?

What changed your mind?

Re: Yamaha Drums

Very nice set.
I didn't know they made them in those sizes.
Pretty sure it's the first one I've seen like that.

Re: If you were sitting behind my kit.

Not silly - excellent idea.

But I'm the one who said you should get the snare first, instead of a cymbal.
So take that for what it's worth. LOL

Re: New Snare ??

7 year old thread. I wonder what he ended up getting.

I would have recommended the Joey Jordison snare.

Get the snare.

Another cymbal can come later.
Happy Birthday.

Re: New Pearl masters MCX = Horrible!

That''s why it's called the 'honeymoon' phase.

New, shiny, exciting kit. Easy to jump off the deep end with praise for it.
After you've lived with it for a while, a more realistic attitude...

Re: I like cheap snares

I don't think I read anyone saying that cheap snares sound 'just as good' as expensive ones. Maybe I missed it.

For me, and for most of the posts I read, it sounds like people are saying that...

Re: Cheap recording/editing program?

I use synthesizers, and the ones I use the most have midi release velocity.

The only programs I've found that can record it are Cubase and Logic.
Reaper, Cakewalk, Studio One, and the others I've...

Re: Drummers around 5'6" - What size drums do you have?

Much clearer idea with a picture - thanks.

Doesn't look like it'd work for me, for the same reason I can't get used to a double pedal on the kit. Too wide of a spread between the feet/legs.

I...

Re: I like cheap snares

I'm a big fan of the stock Stage Custom wood snares. But my experience with them is pretty opposite.
I don't find them dead, but extra ringy, woody and thumpy - all at the same time.
I damp them...

Re: Drummers around 5'6" - What size drums do you have?

Move the bass drum off to which side? Play it with your foot at an angle?

'Clamp the rack toms so they sit in the middle' ---- Sit in the middle of what???

Maybe a picture would make it...
